Hello There,
Welcome back to K&T blog, how was your week?
In 2 days time it will officially be the start of the second half of the year, how did you do on the first half ? did you lose weight? has your health and fitness level improved? how far are you from your set fitness and weight loss goals for 2025?, this is a good time for reflection. On our side, we did not do so well on the first half of the year, we hardly lost weight , what a tough year. The second half of the year presents us with an opportunity to reset and run the race again with a revived vigor, clarity of vision and the will to achieve our set goals.
“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” – Thomas A. Edison
We are kicking off the second half of the year with a WhatsApp 30-Day weight loss challenge with our community, friends, colleagues and associates. With the challenge, we are hoping to plough back what we have learned in the past 5-years on our weight loss journey, to help others set the foundation and give the tools that works for weight loss. Ultimately to encourage others to start their own weight loss journey because we can see that health is wealth and currently things are getting out of control with health and fitness in our world.
For us, the challenge will also give us an opportunity to refresh our own journey, to recoup the excitement of winning at weight loss and improving our health, and also to sharpen our mission that was coincidentally conceived in 2020 as a result of Covid-19 pandemic. If you are interested in obtaining the weight loss guide that we will be using during the 30-Day WhatsApp weight loss challenge , you can access it HERE and give the next 30-days a try yourself 🙂 , but Please note that the guide comes at a cost of ZAR 100 (around 5 USD).
The garden update for June 2025. This month we transitioned from harvesting to planting, we moved from reaping to sowing, we harvested the last batches of tomatoes, spinach and peppers. We started to plant new batches of Onions, Beetroot, cabbage (green and red) ,broccoli, cauliflower and lettuce, we will be adding spinach in the coming weeks. The kids also had fun dressing up the scarecrow 🙂 , so this year we might not struggle with birds .

It has been a year since we started the garden, the intention and hope was (and is) to eventually self-provide most of the produce on our plate, and looking at the past year of our gardening activities and yields we think the hope is a serious possibility, it can be acheived. Below are the links to the monthly updates for the past year, it always brings a good feeling when you capture, track and see the evolvement of efforts from nothing to something :).
