Hi There,
Welcome back, we hope you had a satisfying week. It was a great week on our side, a week full of excitement, anticipation and some anxieties. This was a week that marked the end of the 2nd month of a 6 months’ weight loss and fitness journey. It is always a mixture of excitement and anxiety when we have to measure our progress, our minds are occupied with thoughts on whether we did enough to reach the target. On the days leading to measuring progress we ask ourselves whether was there anything we could have done to ensure that we make it. But the anticipation of the results and the feelings of achievement brings exhilaration.
In this week, we managed to stay consistent with our plans. We followed the training program and ate according to our meal plans. We tracked our calories closely and made adjustment when we ate unplanned foods and bigger quantities of foods than we planned, this action has improved in the last few weeks. We struggled a bit with managing and maintaining work/life balance, the stress that comes with it was a bit of a challenge, but we are happy that we managed to pull through. The stress from dealing with the demands of work and family can have a serious impact on our fitness journey because when we are stressed our instinct is to lean on comfort foods, and these are usually high calorie processed foods. We thank God that we were able to manage the stress and kept the derailment at a minimum.
1. 2nd Months progress tracking
On the 15th of March, we tracked our progress by taking measurements of our weights and compared the results to the measurements we took at the beginning of our journey two months ago. Kat managed to lose 1kg and Tshepi managed to lose 0.9kg (see progress results below). This means that for the past two months, Kat was able to lose 2.1kg and Tshepi was able to lose 2.65kg. We are delighted with the progress because our goal was to lose 2kg each by the second month, so we have reached our target 🙂 . Our plan is working so far and the efforts we are putting on daily basis are yielding the desired results and we are very proud of this achievement. We are winning.

When we analyse the results and reflect on the process, we can say that the one thing that made a difference in this month was the consistency in tracking our calories and adjusting them when necessary. This gave us the ability to predict the weight we would lose even though we derailed from the planned meals and training from time to time. This was a good addition to our artillery from the month before as we were not very consistent in tracking and adjusting our calories on the first month of the journey.
In concluding this week’s blog, it feels very rewarding to achieve the goal we set for ourselves. The sense of achievement is boosting our self-confidence and belief in ourselves. The trust in the plans we have put in place is increasing, and the pains and sacrifices we encounter in the process is starting to feel more worthy. As we enter the 3rd month of our journey, we are confident that our system is working and we plan to continue from last month and to keep improving where we notice a gap. But before we enter the new week with more enthusiasm and determination, we will be celebrating this month’s small win, baked goods for Kat and Magnum ice cream for Tshepi 🙂 . Until the next blog, stay blessed.
Kat & Tshepi
