Weight loss Day 1’s

Hi There, welcome back to K&T blog. We hope you had a good week.

A weight loss journey comprises of numerous Day 1’s, these are the days that one has decided to give weight loss another go or the days that one has decided to change their course of actions because they discovered something different which they believe can be beneficial to their weight loss efforts . Perceived well, Day 1’s are good because they show that you still believe that your health is important , they also show that there is still fire in you to become a healthier version ,”Your best self”. Perceived incorrectly, Day 1’s becomes undue attack on your self-esteem, they become a reinforcement of your inability to lose weight , they become a sign of your failures, they are your “argh here we go again 😦 “.

Perception makes a huge difference in life, the intensity of a problem can vary based on how you perceive it , a problem can be huge or tiny depending on your perception. It is therefore a good idea to keep check of your perception when you feel strongly about something. We’ve had a lot of Day 1’s on our weight loss journey, some commenced with heavy hearts because of previous failures and others with excitement over the potential of what is in store for us, but when we look back on our journey we can now see that all the Day 1’s had something positive to add, even when we failed at our goals we benefitted drastically on experience and knowledge, we can even say that the failures were the manure and the foundation of the successes we’ve had in losing weight and getting fit.

A weight loss journey is an evolving phenomena, you keep discovering new knowledge, motivation , ambition , even different ways of approaching your journey. It therefore makes sense that upon discovering new treasures one would review their journey and alter their course or continue on the current one with revived vigor, all these requires Day 1’s. Since a weight loss journey is evolving, perhaps a perception of continuous improvement is useful, a view based on what you are improving every time you start a new diet, a fitness program or a weight loss goal. The essence of this perception is that Day 1’s are not to be viewed as starting all over again but as another stage of improvement on your weight loss journey. Day 1’s are an opportunity to add value to your life, to improve as a person, to increase chances of attaining your desired goals. “The odds increase the more you try” – James Clear.

Last week we gave some tips to maneuver the season of winter, thereafter we thought “Hey why don’t we capture our winter weight loss plan?”, so this week we started another “Day 1”, we will be capturing our winter weight loss process on this page (K&T 2024 Winter challenge) by following our own weight loss guide . Our goal is to lose 5kg(2.2lbs) each by following what we recommend for losing weight, we hope in doing so we will be able to uncover and clarify some of the complexities on our weight loss guide, but most importantly we hope we can inspire someone to tag along and start their winter weight loss journey(or any season other than winter). So, here we go again : ) but on a positive perception.
