From Sedentary to Activity

Hi There,

Welcome back to the blog, how have you been?

We hope it has been a good week for you and that the scales are tipping in your favour. A fitness and weight loss journey is nothing but a realistic example of the nature of life, it is never always smooth and neither always rough, it is has its ups and downs but but never stays in one state forever. So if things went smooth for your fitness and weight loss goals this week, well done, but if they did not workout as anticipated, it is life, here is a new week to recoup and try again. Here is a quote by Robert Frost to remind us that nothing is permanent , whatever you may be going through, “In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.”

This week we went on a hiking trip with our Fitcamp group members. In 2021 we started a community Fitcamp to encourage exercising, healthy and active lifestyle for our community members, we coach the group and train together twice per week, and from time to time we organize charity walks and hiking trips. This initiative has been beneficial to us and our community members, we are seeing people transforming their health, fitness levels, social and emotional well being. This has also been a blessing in disguise for us, being naturally anti-social and introverted, we are continuously challenged to get out of our comfort zone of solitude and disengagement to a more active and positive engagement in the community we live in.

On this hiking trip, we remembered how we have improved in our activity levels over the past few years , how we have moved from a sedentary lifestyle to an active one. It was a good reminder of how exercising regularly has generated further energy to actively participate in other things. Generally, we see exercise as an activity that takes away energy and leaves you wasted, but in reality it actually generate and produce more energy for your availability. It seems counter-intuitive when you suggest exercising to someone who is tired , but amazingly it is true, you have more energy available when you exercise or improve your activity level.

Improving our activity levels, not only assist with weight loss but also helps with activating all other systems that encompass our being, we start to feel good and happy quite often, our brain starts to come back online quite frequently, we get to complete and accomplished outstanding tasks, slowly but surely we lose the state of being tired all the time, and before we know it, we are doing things we never thought we would physically manage 🙂 .

That’s it for this week, we hope this post can inspire you to start the habit of exercising or to start moving a little bit more if you are living a sedentary lifestyle. Our bodies were meant to move us around and they are fully capable to do so beyond our perceived ability, let us not deny them this nature and let us not deny ourselves this enjoyment.

Until next week, Stay blessed.
