Hello There,
Welcome back to K&T blog. How are you doing? and how was your week?
Another week has come and gone, we hope you made the best of it. Each week is an opportunity to improve our health and overall wellness, an opportunity to maximise the joy of our presence here on earth, and what better way is there than to maximise our fitness and health. On our side, it was a hectic week but we made the best of it, we missed all our resistance training due to life demands but at least our nutrition was on point. Life can get discouragingly too busy, but we think this is what makes life “life”. A line from a movie Shawshank Redemption sum this up perfectly “I guess it comes down to one choice, get busy living or get busy dying” 🙂 .
This week we remember the days before we started our weight loss journey, we were always tired, and in time we got tired of being tired. This was one of the reasons we started our journey, we knew that we had to make changes on our lifestyle. We had to change what we eat, our physical activity, and our perception of life as well, we had to leave our comfort zone. Our energy levels improved drastically once we altered our nutrition and physical activity levels, and so we can confidently say the antidote for feeling tired all the time is eating healthy and exercising frequently.
Our current reality is that there is a prevalence of metabolic syndrome in our lives and communities and this is (or has) become a norm. We live with so many health and wellness conditions that are related to energy use in our bodies, these are chronic diseases that we have accepted to be a natural progression of our health . Metabolism is “the process by which the body changes food and drink into energy“, a good metabolism equates to availability of energy to live. The efficiency of the metabolic process naturally declines with age , so the older we get, the more we struggle to produce sufficient energy from the food we eat.
The good news is that metabolism can be improved, just like an old car that does not perform as it used to, but with a little bit of attention and maintenance it is able to recoup some of its glory days. This is how it is with our bodies after years and years of battering and unhealthy eating, when we pay attention to our nutrition and improve our physical activities, we are able to recover our performance and our “HEY” days. This is what we believe happened to us when we changed our diet and started to exercise, chronic tiredness left us and we welcomed energy back.
That’s it for this week, getting older naturally affects our energy production, but paying attention to elements that improves energy production will help in eradicating the feeling of being “Tired of being tired“. A good way to start improving this energy production is by eating mostly natural foods and exercising regularly, this will do the trick. This can be achieved by progressively taking one step at a time, one healthy food at a time, one 15-minute walk at a time. “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” – Mark Twain.
Until next week, Stay blessed.
