The Garden: September update

Hello There,

Welcome back to K&T blog, we hope you are doing good.

How did your weight loss efforts go this week? Our week was a tough one, it was the first and last week of our kids’ school holidays, this always throws our exercise and nutrition plan out of the window, but we tried our best amidst the changes. Life is never stagnant and is never without troubles and obstacles, but these gives spice to life, we get to know and enjoy what is good because we experience and overcome what is bad. On a weight loss journey, a change to your normal routine challenges your goal and can set you back drastically but this is where you get to grow in discipline and commitment, it is where you learn to make it or break it. Progress for weight loss is made in imperfect conditions, the associated consistency is cemented in a constantly changing environment, it is accomplished by working with what you have, by doing your best towards your goal one day at a time however the day and its challenges comes.

It is end of September and therefore time for the latest garden update as committed when we started a garden 3 months ago. We started the garden in July and have been providing monthly updates here on the blog ( The Garden – July update , The Garden: August update ).

This month we started to reap the rewards of our labour as we harvested spinach, it was a fulfilling feeling to both harvest, cook and eat our own produce 🙂 .

This month we also added new new seedlings of cabbage, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower and a few tomatoes. The garden is certainly growing, which means there is a requirement for increased care and an increase in the most important resource “TIME”, but we are happy that all family members are chipping in and therefore eliminate the need for more time to tend to the garden, 15 to 30 minutes per day is still sufficient.

That’s it for this week, the garden project is coming along well and we are pleased with the progress so far. We wonder, will we ever get to a point where we produce most of the food we eat………..We are hopeful :). Until next week, stay blessed.
