The Garden : April 2025 update

Hi There,

Welcome back to K&T blog, how are things going on your side?

We hope your weight loss efforts for this week yielded some good results and that you are are slowly but surely getting closer to your goal. On our side Winter is making its presence felt, everything about the body says don’t move a lot and don’t eat healthy foods :). But we are not conceding, we are continuing with our plan to eliminate baked goods (especially bread) and walk at least 10 000 steps each day, both are hard to do but we believe that we are moving in the right direction.

Remember our discovery from the first quarter of 2025 and a weight loss tip to help in the second quarter, we said “If you still have baked goods and confectionaries on your menu, it will still be hard to lose weight in the second quarter.”. We hope you have heeded this call and are trying to reduce these type of food, flour based foods are really a problem when it comes to weight gain and health in general, and they are almost everyone’s staple. It is time to see the breads, pastries, cookies, pizzas, pastas, muffins and cakes for what they really are, they are the substrate that stoke the fire of weight gain and they accelerate the demise of our health.

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” – Marcel Proust

Garden update for April: It has been raining quite a lot in April and this has reduced time to plant and care for the garden, but we were able to harvest some tomatoes, jalapenos, green and red peppers daily in small quantities. These harvest, together with the remaining spinach we are able to produce crops sufficient for supplementing our meals even though we were not spending time in the garden, a good sign that our garden is self-sustaining to a certain degree 🙂 .

That’s it for this week, with the start of winter upon us, time will still be limited for the garden but we are expecting to keep harvesting small but sufficient quantities of tomatoes and peppers. We will also be planting new spinach which will be ready for harvest on the other side of winter. Until next week, Stay blessed.
