Sucking at loosing weight

Hi there, welcome back to K&T blog.

We hope you had a lovely week. It is now the sixth month of the year, half of 2024 is almost gone, how is your weight loss journey going? We hope you are making good progress and that you feel and look better than you did when 2024 began. We always get excited when a new month begin, it is a great opportunity to review our goals and the progress (or no progress) we have made so far, it is time to get rejuvenated and go at it one more time. So if you are unhappy with your progress so far into the year, this is a new month to try again, to finish the first half of the year strong, YOU GOT THIS.

This week we would like to talk about “Sucking at loosing weight”, meaning getting nowhere after many many attempts. Have you ever tried learning a new skill? You would have no choice but to suck at it first, you need several attempts to start seeing the light, only a few people have the natural talent or ability to grasp a new skill with ease, the majority of us have to suck first. Weight loss is similar to learning a new skill, you really need to fail multiple times before you can start to understand the process for losing weight, before you can understand your body’s nutrition requirements and uniqueness, before you get to taste weight loss success.

The key to mastering a new skill is always practice, practice, practice, the more you do it the better you become. So is the ability to lose weight at your command, you have to keep at it often enough to start seeing lasting results. Losing weight is not necessarily about how you do it but how often you do it, it is about CONSISTENCY. Therefore whatever you do to lose weight (we hope its a healthy way), keep doing it, you will eventually get good at it and see the results.

For this new month, how about you approach weight loss with a new mindset, a mindset of improvement, a mindset of getting better each day at losing weight, a mindset of building your mastery of losing weight one day at a time. This month, don’t be hard on yourself, in the words of Austin Kleon “Practice and Suck Less“, so we therefore urge you to aim for sucking less at losing weight this June 2024, try losing 0.25kg per week or anything above Zero per week. That’s it for this week, about 2 months ago we launched a Youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@KatandTshepi) to encourage a habit of exercising, we suck at making good quality videos ,but each week we practice and try to get better, and hey we are starting to suck less 🙂 .
