Hi There,
Welcome back to K&T blog.
We hope you had a great week and we hope that you are in good spirits to kickstart a new one. On our side, this week we were in celebratory mode as we celebrated Tshepi’s National Teaching Awards victory. Earlier this year she summoned the courage to enter the competition and and it turns out that she got first position in her category, in the circuit area she works in. We are so happy for her đ , and in relation to her efforts we echo Mat Fraser’s slogan Hard Work Pays Off (HWPO).

Tshepi’s victory is a true testament that dreams do come true, but they just don’t happen on their own, you have to be willing to put in the work for them. Furthermore, it seems that having a dream (goal) and the will to work at it is not sufficient to realise that dream, you need a plan. A plan is a roadmap for your dream, it paves a virtual path for you to get to your desired state, but that path needs to be physically treaded , that is you need to work the plan. Working the plan will certainly yield the desired outcome in a perfect world, but we live a dynamic life in a dynamic world, this means that what we have planned in the beginning might not be relevant in the present, we therefore need to constantly review our plan. Reviewing our plans help us to perform a sanity check on our dream and help us to test the realism of our plan. A constant review of our plans gets us closer and closer to our dream.
If we look back at what it took for Tshepi to achieve her dream and by considering the insights from the preceding paragraph, we came up with the following sequence of activities that we believe led to her victory.
1. Having a dream (Goal).
2.The Will to put in the work.
3.Planning the required work.
4.Working the plan.
5.Reviewing the plan.
6. Achieving the dream (Goal).
We are convinced that dreams comes true not by chance but by a methodical approach and consistent effort. We also think this approach works well for achieving weight loss goals, if one desires to lose weight, it needs to be a goal, followed by the willingness to work for it, then putting a plan in place, doing the planned work daily and periodically checking how they are doing against their original plan. Consistently working the plan, one activity at a time and one day at a time will lead to weight loss victory.
Talking about weight loss goals, it is now July, a good time to do a Mid year weight loss goals review. It is time to check whether the goals we set and the plans we made in January are still relevant and realistic. This is a good opportunity to revive ones fitness goals and to leverage on the benefit of “Newness”, a time to change things up a bit. The year is not over, a lot of fitness can be achieved in the remaining months of 2024.
Just to check in with you đ , How are you doing on your fitness goals this year so far? Are the goals set at the beginning of the year still alive? Are they still important? how badly do you want them? Is it time to take a second bite at them?…. If it is time to take a second bite at your fitness goals, we gathered 10 of the posts we wrote in the first half of this year which we think can be helpful with inspiration, motivation and know-how to be victorious by December 2024.

That’s it for this week, July is a good month to ponder on what one wants to do for the rest of the year and to set new goals if necessary, it is a welcomed rest stop to refresh and to get going again. We (Kat & Tshepi) are constantly reviewing our goals and we seem to know what we are aiming for this second half of the year, its time to hit the ground. Antonio Machado said âStroller there is no path â your walk creates the pathâ , we wish you all the best on the paths you will be creating in the remainder of the year đ .
